I often begin writing strips by jotting down quick ideas and sketches that accompany what I’ve written. Notes like “poop sock” or “monkey in bear suit” will proliferate the page, paired with images that further illustrate my half-baked idea. In my notes about this strip I had a single line that read, “pedophile airplane entices boy,” with a big question mark where the corresponding sketch usually goes. Not an easy thing to figure out.
